1:1 Laptop Program Information

After many years of research and planning, we are proud to be an official 1:1 Laptop School! In January 2009, every 9th grade student in the class of 2012 received a MacBook laptop. The program is still expanding and in September 2010, students in grades seven, nine, ten and eleven will have school issued laptops.  Students will keep their laptops throughout Upper School.

We have developed a comprehensive support plan for students, parents, and faculty. In addition to providing personal laptops for our students, we are supplementing our Life Issues curriculum to educate our girls about being safe, responsible and ethical digital citizens.  We will continue with our parent education series and professional development for faculty.

Springside is committed to preparing our students for leadership in an increasingly complex digital world. The primary goals of the Springside 1:1 Laptop Program are to:

  • prepare students to be safe, responsible, and innovative digital citizens
  • support faculty in the development of interdisciplinary, project-based learning environments
  • promote anytime, anywhere learning
